Advertisement Stapp's car was struck by another vehicle and -- according to a statement released by the band's publicist Monday -- the musician's body "absorbed a 60-mph impact." Stapp "has been advised by medical professionals" to cancel the tour "as he recuperates." No other details of the accident or Stapp's injuries were released. The cancellations include Monday night's scheduled show in Fargo, N.D., through May 31 in Selma, Texas. Tickets can be refunded where they were purchased. While no make-up dates have been announced at this time, "the band looks forward to resuming their touring schedule mid-summer." LISA 'LEFT EYE' LOPES Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' funeral will be held Thursday morning (at 11:00 a.m. ET) at The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in the Atlanta suburb of Lithonia, Ga. Advertisement Family members and friends have been invited to attend a private "visiting" in Atlanta on Wednesday evening. In a statement Monday by TLC manager Bill Diggins, "Lisa's mother, Mrs. Wanda Lopes, and her entire family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the thousands of fans that have sent messages of condolences to them at this tragic time." Lopes, probably the most flamboyant of the hip-hop trio, was killed in a car accident last Thursday night in Honduras. Never out of the spotlight, she pleaded guilty to arson in 1994 in connection with the torching of the Atlanta mansion of her boyfriend at the time, NFL player Andre Rison. GOO GOO DOLLS Students in Monrovia, Calif., were shocked and rocked last Friday when the Goo Goo Dolls showed up at Monrovia High School and played a surprise concert for the student body. The surprise visit was part of MuchMusic USA's second "Class Dismissed" contest, whose grand-prize winner was Monrovia High School student Kevin Stephens, 17. "Class Dismissed" is MuchMusic USA's annual on-air on-line national contest that offers viewers the ability to create and submit their own music video -- this year to the Goo Goo Doll's hit single "Slide" from the band's CD "Dizzy Up the Girl." Kevin's homemade video was judged and voted on by fellow viewers and singled out as the best out of thousands of contestants around the country. Advertisement As the grand prizewinner, Stephens received the personal visit and concert from the Goo Goo Dolls at his school. Last year, the winning concert of "Class Dismissed" took place in a high school in Vermont with Alanis Morissette. "Class Dismissed with the Goo Goo Dolls" will air as part of a special on MuchMusic USA on May 17 (at 8:30 p.m. ET.) The one-hour show will document the Goo Goo Dolls visit and performance for Kevin and Monrovia High School. The Goo Goo Dolls' seventh studio album, "Gutterflower," debuted recently at No.4 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. DAVID BOWIE David Bowie is now the stuff of museums. The Museum of Television and Radio in Los Angeles and New York will feature the Bowie retrospective "Sound + Vision" from June 7 to Sept. 15th. The exhibit commemorates the 30th anniversary of the release of "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars," RollingStone.com reports. More than 50 music videos -- including "Life on Mars?," "Ashes to Ashes," "Let's Dance," "Jazzin' for Blue Jean" and "Thursday's Child" -- are featured in the exhibit. There also is rarely seen performances, outtakes, documentaries and interviews. Bowie provided some of the material from his own personal library, while the rest was culled from various archives. Advertisement CELEBRITY AUCTIONS Jimi Hendrix's Woodstock guitar strap and Elvis Presley's Vegas guitar are among the items that'll go on the auction block June 12. It's part of an auction of celebrity memorabilia being conducted by Odyssey Auctions, the publisher of Autograph Collector magazine. "The strap is one of the most recognizable pieces of rock music history to become available to collectors in many years," said Bill Miller, president of Odyssey. The sale also includes guitars used by Hendrix and Presley. "Drummer Mitch Mitchell, an original member of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, has confirmed the authenticity of the Fender Mustang red guitar played by Hendrix while recording the precedent-setting 1968 albums, 'Axis: Bold As Love,' and 'Electric Ladyland,'" said Miller. Elvis' black Gibson J-200 Acoustic -- played by The King during the era of his 1970s Las Vegas appearances and later given as a gift to his long-time friend, Marty Lacker -- will be offered in the auction. Odyssey Auctions is based in Corona, Calif. (Web site: autographs.com) JOE SATRIANI Joe Satriani's eighth studio album, "Strange Beautiful Music," is due out June 25. Advertisement "Strange Beautiful Music" is a departure from his previous album, the Grammy-nominated "Engines of Creation." Satriani took a new route by employing bassist Matt Bissonette and drummer Jeff Campitelli and creatively allowing both players to add their own arrangements, as would a traditional rock band. This new creative process resulted in one of the most elaborate recordings Satriani has done to date. The guitar virtuoso will perform his patented riffs on stage this summer during his upcoming world tour, which begins in Sofia, Bulgaria. As he readies to hit the road, Satriani has kept himself occupied with recent and upcoming live performances. In early April, Joe performed his soulful rendition of the National Anthem at opening day of the 2002 Major League Baseball season for the Oakland Athletics. Last Saturday, Joe and his band performed some old favorites at the California Music Awards (the awards show formerly known as the BAMMies), where Satriani won the "Outstanding Guitarist" award. BLINK 182 Blink 182 is going where such groups as Aerosmith, the Who, Spinal Tap and the Red Hit Chili Peppers have gone before -- on "The Simpsons." Members of Blink-182 recorded their voice parts for the 300th episode of the animated Fox series last Wednesday, MTV News quotes a network spokesperson saying. Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk is also set to appear in the same tricentennial show. Advertisement In the episode -- scheduled for broadcast in February -- Bart learns that he had acted in commercials as a baby but that Homer has squandered all his money. Frustrated, Bart leaves home after being legally emancipated from his parents and lands in a loft, where the show's guest stars are also living. Somehow everyone winds up at the Skewed Tour, a parody of the rock-meets-extreme-sports festival the Warped Tour.
