Sondra Headrick, 33, gave birth by Caesarean section Saturday to Ethan Roy, Grant Douglas, Sean Edward, Melissa Sue, Jaycie Linette and Danielle Patrice in her 31st week of pregnancy. The babies -- three boys and three girls -- weighed between 2 pounds 10 ounces and 3 pounds 11 ounces.

At least two of the infants needed no help from respirators, a spokeswoman for Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita said. Some of them are able to take their mom's breast milk.

Headrick's doctor, Dr. Van R. Bohman, told a news conference Sunday the babies were born without the defects usually associated with premature births. Doctors had been hoping to extend gestation to 29 weeks and were pleased Headrick was able to carry the babies an additional two weeks. She'd been bedridden since November and hospitalized since Jan. 3.

Headrick and her husband, Eldon, also have a 4-year-old daughter, Aubrianna.

ANIMAL STORY

Frank the Cat has been sprung from his cage.

Frank, you may recall, suffered a broken pelvis Jan. 29 when he was hit by a car near his home in Cambridge, England. His owner, David Donnan -- the managing director of the software firm Igentics Ltd. -- set up a Web site (cathospital.co.uk), complete with Web cams trained on Frank's cage, so friends could monitor the ailing feline. Also, Donnan was hoping to find the kind people who brought the injured Frank home following his accident. In the rush to get the cat to the vet, Donnan had forgotten to ask them their names.

Word of the Web site spread and Frank became an international media star, with news outlets around the world reporting on his progress and fans e-mailing "get-well" messages and pictures of themselves and their cats.

For the next couple of weeks, Donnan said Frank will be confined to one room and then kept in the house for another couple of weeks before being allowed into the garden. He added that the Web site will remain active for the time being, with the Web cams moved so Frank's adoring public can still watch him.

Universal Studios Japan has welcomed its 11 millionth visitor in only its first year of operation, theme park officials said. They add that this is the fastest any park has reached that milestone.

Studio executives had projected first-year attendance at the Osaka, Japan, park at eight million.

Since its debut the first week in April 2001, Universal Studios Japan has become one of Japan's premiere attractions -- drawing a steady stream of visitors to its mix of the most popular rides and shows from Universal's highly successful Hollywood and Florida movie studio theme parks.
