Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe 'SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE' New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani wished his city goodbye as part of an NBC "Saturday Night Live" tribute to his leadership after the Sept. 11 attacks, singing part of the 1960 Shirelles' hit "Will You Love Me Tomorrow." Advertisement Giuliani's appearance during the regular "Weekend Update" skit by comic news anchors Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon was well publicized ahead of time. "Will my heart be broken when the night meets the morning sun?" Giuliani sang, gamely keeping the melody along with Fey and Fallon. Toward the finish of the Carole King-Gerry Goffin pop classic the audience was clapping in unison. "Will you still love me tomorrow?" he concluded. "We'll see," Fallon said about the tomorrow part, adding, "What do you expect, we're New Yorkers." Advertisement Finally, Fey, the comedy show's head writer -- festooned with a Lady Liberty torch and crown -- grew serious as she thanked the mayor "for keeping us together" after the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The legal term limits restriction forces Giuliani to leave office Jan. 1 when Michael Bloomberg, a media billionaire, will succeed him as mayor. Giuliani made a second appearance at the very end of the "Saturday Night Live" program, from in front of the huge Christmas tree outside NBC studios at Rockefeller Center, when he closed the show by wishing everyone happy holidays. BRITISH MOVIE STAR POLL In a poll conducted by British TV channel FilmFour, voters named Robert De Niro as the greatest film star of all time. De Niro's "Godfather" co-star, Al Pacino, finished second, according to the Daily Express newspaper. The top-ranked actress on the poll's list of the 100 greatest film is Jodie Foster, who co-starred with De Niro in "Taxi Driver." She finished at No. 22. Audrey Hepburn ("Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Sabrina"") finished 23rd, and Julia Roberts ("Pretty Woman," "Erin Brockovich") came in at No. 38. Advertisement Kevin Spacey ("The Usual Suspects," "American Beauty") finished third, ahead of Jack Nicholson ("As Good as It Gets," "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest") and Sean Connery, ("The Untouchables" and the James Bond movie series). The actress and singer will perform the classic song "New York, New York" in a tribute to the heroes of the World Trade Center disaster. Also on the bill: Mariah Carey, Alicia Keyes, Mary J. Blige, Shaggy, Amber, Blu Cantrell, Kevin Ceballo, Deborah Cox, Craig David, Enrique Iglesias, Chaka Khan, Christina Milian, Stephanie Mills and Shakira. BOX OFFICE The opening of Tom Cruise's "Vanilla Sky" edged the second weekend of "Ocean's Eleven" with $25 million at 2,742 theaters to lead the nation's box office during the Friday-Sunday period, studio sources said Sunday. Paramount said "Sky," a remake by director Cameron Crowe of the 1997 Spanish film "Abre Los Ojos," drew a mostly older audience with 70 percent of its patrons over 25. There were also slightly more female customers than male. Advertisement Warner Bros.' "Eleven" finished a close second with $23.1 million at 3,075 theaters -- giving the comedy-action vehicle over $73 million after 10 days. Sony's comedy spoof "Not Another Teen Movie" opened in third place. Finishing a still impressive fourth was the fifth weekend of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." The mega-hit has grossed $253.3 million in 31 days, making it the 16th highest domestic performer of all time ahead of "Batman." 20th Century Fox's third weekend of "Behind Enemy Lines" finished fifth. Rounding out the top 10 were "Monsters Inc.," "Spy Game," "Black Knight," "Shallow Hal," and "Amelie."
