Advertisement Published reports say the pop star's song "Ray of Light" will be used by Bill Gates to hype his new Windows XP software in television ads. The official launch of the new software will be a week from Thursday in the Big Apple. Madonna will apparently be there to perform the song. The use of a rock star by the company to introduce new products is not new. About six years ago, Microsoft spent $20 million to get the Rolling Stones to allow it to use the song "Start Me Up" for a previous product roll out. They join Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, John Mellencamp and India.Arie in performing at the ceremony, which will be held at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom next Tuesday (at 9 p.m. ET/PT). Advertisement Nelly Furtado, Moby, Elton John, Destiny's Child, Gwen Stefani, Lil' Kim, Sean "Puffy" Combs and Courtney Love will also appear on the special, which'll air live on VH1. (Web site: vh1.com) OZZY OSBOURNE Ozzy Osbourne will be in Philadelphia Friday (at 12:30 p.m. ET) for a rare live in-studio interview on radio station WMMR (93.3 FM). The former lead singer of Black Sabbath and founder of Ozzfest is promoting the newest of his 15 albums, titled "Down to Earth." The interview will also be cybercast via the radio station's Web site (at wmmr.com). INCUBUS Incubus's new album "Morning View" hits stores next Tuesday. JA RULE Rapper Ja Rule has a deal to co-star with Steven Seagal and Morris Chestnut in the upcoming heist movie "Half Past Dead," described as the story of a criminal who tries to infiltrate a prison and get an inmate on death row to help him find $200 million in gold, hidden in a previous heist.
