The show will be broadcast live on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. on CBS from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Other artists scheduled to appear include George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Diamond Rio and Lee Ann Womack. All-time leading CMA Award winner Vince Gill will host the gala event for the 10th consecutive year. McGraw picked up his first CMA Award in 1997 for his duet with wife Faith Hill, "It's Your Love." Tim is up for three awards this year including the Entertainer of the Year award. Lonestar, Vocal Group of the Year three times over, will perform "I'm Already There" which is nominated in the Single of the Year category. Sara Evans leads the pack with five nominations including Female Vocalist and will perform "Born To Fly." Keith Urban is nominated for the 2001 CMA Horizon award and his self-titled album has been certified gold. Advertisement COUNTRY FREEDOM BENEFIT CONCERT Country artists continue to show their support at the Country Freedom Concert to benefit the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, George Jones, Clint Black, Lonestar, Lee Ann Womack, Charlie Daniels and Sara Evans have been added to the already impressive list of artists scheduled to perform. George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and Martina McBride are among artists previously announced for the event. The concert, from the Gaylord Entertainment Center in downtown Nashville, will be telecast live on CMT on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the Country Freedom Concert go on sale Friday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. Prices are $25, $50, $100, $150 and $1000. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Salvation Army Disaster Relief Fund. Additional information on the show can be found at country.com. McBRIDE & THE RIDE REUNITE Terry McBride, Ray Herndon and Billy Thomas, the original members of McBride & The Ride, have reunited and are heading to the Grand Ole Opry. The group takes the Opry stage on Oct. 19-20 and fans can see them on the televised portion on CMT on Saturday, Oct. 20. Advertisement The group's top 10 singles include "Just One Night," "Going Out of My Mind," "Can I Count On You," "Love on the Loose," and "Heart on the Run." "Sacred Ground," from the gold album of the same name, went to number one in 1992. The group parted ways and Terry McBride turned to songwriting, penning such hits as "I Am That Man," "He's Got You" and "If You See Him/If You See Her" for Brooks & Dunn as well as hits by George Strait, Reba McEntire and others. Ray Herndon became a highly sought after session musician and toured with Lyle Lovett's band and Billy Thomas has been touring with artists such as Vince Gill and Patty Loveless. The trio is back together and back in the studio and is looking forward to making the Opry their first stop in their reunion. MUSIC CITY TRIVIA: Q.
