Venkatraman Ramakrishnan announced as one of three winners of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, a structural biologist at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of the Medical Research Council, is one of three winners of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work describing the structure and function of the ribosome, the protein making factory key to the function of all life, the Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden announced October 7, 2009.
