Government Troops have Opened Fire on Protesters in Sanaa

Doctors look after an anti-government protester, who was shot and wounded by the security forces loyal to President Ali Abdullah Saleh, at a makeshift hospital in the capital Sanaa, on September 25, 2011. Yemeni medical officials say government troops have opened fire on protesters in the capital Sanaa, wounding at least 18 people. The shooting signals President Ali Abdullah Saleh's regime is stepping up its crackdown on the opposition following the leader's surprise return home that coincided with a dramatic surge in violence .
