Attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey who aimed guns at Black Lives Matter protesters in St. Louis on Sunday, June 28, 2020, have been given pardons by Missouri Governor Mike Parson, it was announced on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. The two have defended their actions by saying they felt their lives were being threatened. On Friday, July 30, 2021, Governor Mike Parson granted 12 pardons and approved two commutations pursuant to Article IV, Section 7 of the Constitution of the State of Missouri.
