WAX2000112701 - 27 NOVEMBER 2000 - WASHINGTON, DC, USA: The Republic of Liberia announced November 17, 2000, that it had inadvertently released postage stamps of both Al Gore and George W. Bush depicted as the 43rd President of the United States. A press release from the government cited it's desire to be the first to issue a stamp honoring the new President, along with conflicting media reports about the election, as the reasons for releasing both stamps by mistake. The online stamp collecting company Stampville.com has announced that it has secured a few sets of the stamps November 27, 2000. bc/Stampville.com UPI
