Replica of Notre Dame Truss Raised in Washington DC

Catholic University (CUA) students and Handshouse Studio host a ceremony to hand raise a full-scale truss of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris outside the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC., on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. During a 10-day student workshop, CUA Architecture and Planning students assembled a replica of Notre Dame's truss No. 6, one of the 25 primary trusses which held the roof and was destroyed during the 2019 fire, using medieval techniques.
