Senate to consider legislation for employment rights for gays, lesbians

WAP2002042488 - WASHINGTON, April 24 (UPI) -- Sen. James Jeffords, R-Vt., Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., Wade Henderson, executive director of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Rev. Welton Gaddy, executive director of the Interfaith Alliance, and Elizabeth Birch, executive director of the Human Rights Campaign converse before holding a new conference on the progress on a bill that would prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation on April 24, 2002, on Capitol Hill.
