White House Historical Association Unveils Historical Plaques in Lafayette Square

The White House Historical Association and the National Parks Service honors the birthday of former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy by unveiling three historical markers in Lafayette Square recounting the involvement of slave labor in the construction of the White House, the history of first amendment demonstrations in Lafayette Square and the life of Jacqueline Kennedy in Washington, DC on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
