Bob Hope turns 100 years old

NYP2003052926 - NEW YORK, MAY 29 (UPI) -- Actor/singer Bob Hope born as Leslie Townes in Eltham , England celebrates his 100th birthday today May 29, 2003. Hope is known for his 7 Road pictures with co-stars Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour and his countless USO tours to entertain U.S. servicemen in peacetime and war. Hope's famous signature tune "Thanks for the Memory" was introduced by him in the 1938 film "Big Broadcast of 1938." ep/Ezio Petersen UPI
