OCEAN WATCH FOUNDATION CONDUCTS REEF SWEEP IN SOUTH FLORIDA

SCUBA divers Chris Richard (l) and Terri Coburn (r) attach a lift bag to a heavy piece of trash found along the reef offshore from Pompano Beach, Florida on June 10, 2006 while participating at the Ocean Watch Foundation's annual "Reef Sweep". The Ocean Watch Foundation has sponsored the event for the past eighteen years and is dedicated to the preservation and protection of the coral reef ecosystems in South Florida. Nearly three tons of trash were picked up during the day's event by over 900 local volunteers. .(UPI Photo/Joe Marino)
