Ted Turner funds Nuclear Threat Initiative

Richard Lugar (R-IN) and Ted Turner, the founder of CNN and Vice-chairman of Time Warner, announce the formation of the Nuclear Threat Initiative organization during at a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on January 8, 2001. Sam Nunn and Ted Turner will serve as co-chairmen of the newly formed group.
