Baby Seal Born at Brookfield Zoo near Chicago

In this photo provided by the Chicago Zoological Society, a male grey seal pup stays close to his mother Lily, 10, at Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, Illinois on January 2, 2014. The pup, born on New Year’s Day, is the first of its species born at the zoo. Grey seal pups are born with long white fur called lanugo, which is molted in two to four weeks and replaced with shorter, stiffer hair similar to that of adults.
