KSC62022001 - 23 OCTOBER 1998 - CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA, USA: Mercury-Atlas 6 lifts off from Cape Canaveral, February 20, 1966, in this archive photo of America's first manned Earth orbiting space flight. Astronaut John H. Glenn Jr. piloted the craft. Glenn returns to space aboard the space shuttle Discovery October 29 and will be a test subject on a variety of experiments on aging.
