Israeli Antiquities Authority Excavates A Neolithic Period Settlement
Dr. Jacob Vardi, of the Israel Antiquities Authority, stands in the excavations of a 9,000 year old Neolithic Period settlement in Moza, outside Jerusalem, on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. The settlement is the largest known in Israel from that period, and archeologists say 3,000 residents lived there. Excavations exposed large buildings, rooms for living, public facilities and places for ritual, plus thousands of arrowheads, pieces of jewelry and figurines. Photo by Debbie Hill/UPI
