Tesla announces Powerwall 2 battery capable of powering a two-bedroom home for a full day

During a press event in Los Angeles on Friday, October 28, 2016, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced Powerwall 2, the second generation of Tesla’s original Powerwall product, which enables self-consumption of solar power, emergency backup, load shifting and other grid service applications. The Powerwall can store surplus solar energy and use that energy later when the sun isn’t shining. This functionality can extend the environmental and cost benefits of solar.
