New Penguin exhibit at St. Louis Zoo

SLP2003052305 - ST. LOUIS, May 23 (UPI) -- Humboldt Penquins stand in their new outdoor surroundings prior to the opening of the new Penguin & Puffin Coast at the St. Louis Zoo on May 23, 2003. The new $8.3 million, 15 thousand square foot, open-air exhibit has 80 penguins and 30 puffins in a 45 degree climate. The exhibit is the first walk-through subantarctic penguin exhibit in North America. The Humboldt, from Peru and Chile, is an endangered species dg/bg/Bill Greenblatt UPI
