Sulfur-Emitting Chinese Drywall Blamed for Problems in U.S. Homes
Shannon Schulz looks into the oven of her home in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, April 14, 2009, The oven, along with many other appliances in the home, has had to have repeated repairs due to corroded circuit boards. The contractor the family hired to renovated the home after Hurricane Katrina used sulfur-emitting Chinese drywall, which the family believes is now causing problems, including corroding copper pipes and wiring, blackened jewelry and silverware, and possibly adverse health effects. Some officials believe the only way to solve the problems is to remove the walls, studs, and wiring. (UPI Photo/A.J. Sisco)
