Electric company uses drones to detect problems

A drone that will detect problems with power lines flys over equiptment at a Ameren Electric Company facility in Belleville, Illinois on September 8, 2017. The company covers the western portion of Illinois and will use 33 drones, flown by licenced operators to fly over hundreds of miles of lines to see if they have been struck by lightning, with the hope of speeding up repairs.
