Bob Hope dies at the age of 100
WAX2003072804 - NEW YORK, JULY 28 (UPI) -- Actor/singer Bob Hope born as Leslie Townes in Eltham, England died on July 27, 2003 two months past his 100th birthday at his home in Toluca Lake California. Hope is known for his 7 Road pictures with co-stars Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour and his countless USO tours to entertain U.S. servicemen in peacetime and war. Hope's famous signature tune "Thanks for the Memory" was introduced by him in the 1938 film "Big Broadcast of 1938." UPI
