STEEL TARIFFS
Rolls of coiled steel are unloaded Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, from the Antilles V at the Poland Street Wharf in New Orleans. The ship picked up the cargo in Trinidad. Steel usually accounts for 40 percent of the general cargo imports to the port, however since steel tariffs were enacted by President Bush that number has dropped to nearly 25 percent.
