Byzantine Church Excavated In Southern Israel
Workers from the Israel Antiquities Authority work on a large mosaic with ancient inscriptions that was found in the remains of a large Byzantine Church, approximately,1,500 years old, during excavations by the Israel Antiquities Authority in Moshav Aluma, in southern Israel, January 22, 2014. The church is 22 meters long and 12 meters wide and was part of a large and important Byzantine settlement in the region. UPI/Debbie Hill
