Patent Office Rules Against Washington Redskins Trademark
The U.S. Patent Office ruled that the nickname "Redskins" for the NFL Washington Redskins football team is "disparaging of Native Americans" that the Federal trademarks for that name must be canceled. In 2013 file photo, the Redskins logo is seen on a hat prior to the Redskins game at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland on October 20, 2013. UPI/Kevin Dietsch/Files
