Photo Radar Speeding Tickets
WAP2001080834 - 08 AUGUST 2001 - WASHINGTON, DC, USA: An unmarked Metropolitan Police Department car employs a photo radar system (the black box on the front grill and the camera in the window) which will be used to issue tickets to speeders on Michigan Avenue in Washington, D.C., August 8, 2001. The system measures a vehicle's speed, then takes a picture of the license plate and car. The photo is then processed and a ticket is mailed to the violator with the details of the violation. rlw/Roger L. Wollenberg UPI
