St. Louis Childrens Hospital set up tents in parking lot for overflow of patients
Medication and IV fluids stand ready in cabinets in the parking garage of St. Louis Childrens Hospital as staff man the new emergency unit overflow tents that have been erected to help accommodate more Emergency Department patients in St. Louis on October 1, 2009. Respiratory illness including asthma and influenza are currently causing Emergency Department visits to increase by about 30 percent. The tents can also serve patients of lower priority if a an outbreak of the swine flu would occur. UPI/Bill Greenblatt
