JUDGE SETS TRIAL DATE IN PHIL SPECTOR MURDER TRIAL
Music producer Phil Spector (L), charged with fatally shooting actress Lana Clarkson, listens to comments by the prosecutor as he appears for a pretrial hearing with his attorney Bruce Cutler, at the Los Angeles Superior Court in downtown Los Angeles, California October 27, 2005. The judge ruled that jurors will be allowed to hear that the record producer was allegedly overheard saying he "didn't mean to shoot her," following the death of Clarkson, who he is accused of killing. Spector's attorney Bruce Cutler, who wanted the statement suppressed, has emphatically denied that Spector ever said that. The judge set a tentative trial date of January 30 with April 30 as an alternative. (UPI Photo/Jim Ruymen).
