Team at Saint Louis University Hospital uses special UV lights to sanitize N95 masks
Wendy Gould, R.N., inspects a N95 masks that have been sanitized in a special trailer at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis on Thursday, April 23, 2020. As a result of using UV light exposure to N-95 masks for 10 minutes, the masks are able to be utilized for up to five additional shifts, conserving the supply of N-95 masks throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The N-95 masks are the recommended masks needed for health care workers to perform life-saving and medical procedures on patients with the coronavirus.
