LAP99061505 - 15 JUNE 1999 - LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA: Wayne Gretzky, pictured, was already a mortal lock for the Hockey Hall of Fame -- it was just a question of when. Now, that question has been settled. The hall's Board of Directors has ratified the selection committee's request to dispense with the customary 3-year waiting period for the Great One, who retired after the 1998-99 season. The Selection Committee will hold its annual meeting in Toronto on Wednesday of next week, to consider nominations for induction in 1999.
