Hurricane Ike moves into the Gulf of Mexico

This September 10, 2008 NOAA Satellite photo shows Hurricane Ike as it moves into the Gulf of Mexico. The storm is expected to intensity to a category 3 hurricane before it makes landfall in Texas or northern Mexico on Saturday. The storm is moving toward the west-northwest at 8 MPH with maximum sustained winds near 85 MPH.
