A portrait of former Confederate House Speaker James Lawrence Orr is removed by staff with the Architect of the Capitol, outside of the House Chambers in the US Capitol Building in Washington, DC on Thursday, June 18, 2020. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ordered the paintings of four House speakers who served in the Confederacy to be removed. The portraits that were removed are of Robert Mercer Taliaferro Hunter of Virginia, Howell Cobb of Georgia, James Lawrence Orr of South Carolina and Charles Frederick Crisp of Georgia.
