SpaceX Launch of OTV-5 Mission from Kennedy Space Center
SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launched the U.S. Air Force's X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV), a reusable unmanned spacecraft, on its fifth mission on September 7, 2017, at 10:00 am EDT. The fifth OTV mission was launched into and will be landed from, a higher inclination orbit than previous missions to expand the X-37B’s orbital envelope. The X-37B has been the focus of much speculation, with some reports suggesting it could be used as a spy satellite or as a vehicle to deliver weapons from space. SpaceX/UPI
