Pro-democracy activists continue to shut down parts of Hong Kong
Pro-democracy activists, calling their movement the "Umbrella Revolution," continue to shut down parts of downtown Hong Kong on October 6, 2014. Students continued to barricade major roads in several parts of the city, though their numbers were considerably lower than just a week ago. The government and pro-democracy protestors have laid down a framework for formal talks, opening the door for a solution to end the standoff that has gripped the city. UPI/Stephen Shaver
