Preview for Play It Loud: at the Met Museum in New York
Led Zeppelin Guitarist Jimmy Page delivers remarks at a press preview for Play It Loud: Instruments of Rock & Roll at Metropolitan Museum of Art on April 1, 2019 in New York City. A groundbreaking exhibition presenting a spectacular array of iconic instruments of rock and roll will go on view at The Met on April 8. The exhibition includes Chuck Berry's electric guitar ES-350T (1957), which was used to record "Johnny B. Goode"; a reconstructed performance rig from Eddie Van Halen as it appeared onstage in 1978; Lady Gaga's custom-designed piano; Stevie Ray Vaughan's composite stratocaster "Number One"; Joan Jett's guitar "Melody Maker," which remains an important part of her onstage identity; the guitar that Keith Richards is known to have used when the Rolling Stones appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1966; St. Vincent's electric guitar, which Annie "St. Vincent" Clark designed in collaboration with Music Man in 2015; and Jimmy Page's dragon-embroidered costume, which he wore during Led Zeppelin's live performances from 1975 to 1977.
