A local smokes while waiting for his steam train in Jiayang
A local smokes a cigarette while waiting for his steam train to depart from Shixi station in Jiayang, a small mountainous city in Sichuan Province, on April 9, 2016. Although boasting the world's longest and most modern high-speed rail system with over 19,000 km of track, China is also home to the world's last running narrow-gauge passenger steam train service. Constructed in 1958, the Jiayang Railway was built to haul coal along about a 13-mile track using steam engines built in the 1950s. The same engines are still in use. Photo by Stephen Shaver/UPI
