THE CRUISE SHIP ECSTASY USED FOR RELIEF WORKERS DURING THE AFTERMATH OF KATRINA
The Cruise ship Ecstasy from Carnival Cruise Lines is docked at the port of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina September 16, 2005. The ship is being used as a temporarily home to thousands of city workers and their families. Originally sought as residences for evacuees, the ship has been shifted to another use by the government, which signed a contract for it and three others immediately after Hurricane Katrina's flooding.
