Ireland Votes Overwhelmingly to Repeal Anti-Abortion Laws
Locals of Galway, Ireland hold hands during a minute of remembrance for Savita Halappanavar who died in 2012 due to a septic miscarriage. She was denied the right to an abortion and was the catalyst for a call to repeal anti-abortion laws in Galway, Ireland on May 25, 2018. Ireland voted overwhelmingly by a two-thirds margin to repeal the anti-abortion laws that some say marks a dramatic defeat for the Roman Catholic church's domination of the Republic.
