US Supreme Court rules gay marriage is legal nationwide
The LGBTQ flag waves in front of the Supreme Court building after the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of gay marriage across the U.S. at the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. on June 26, 2015. Now the 14 states with bans on same-sex marriage will no longer be able to enforce them. The ruling, which sparked celebrations outside the court in Washington DC, brings to an end more than a decade of bitter legal battles. Photo by Gabriella Demczuk/UPI
