Javits Center to be turned into hospitals for COVID-19 in New York
Members of the press space out but surround the uniformed members of the National Guard that are on site at the Jacob Javits Convention Center before Gov. Andrew Cuomo speaks with the National Guard on site in New York City on Monday, March 23, 2020. The Javits Center is setting up to be turned into field hospitals to test and possibly treat cases of COVID-19 infections. New York state now accounts for about 1 percent of the coronavirus-related deaths in the world and New York City has more than 12,300 of those cases. Photo by John Angelillo/UPI
