Hurricane Sandy brings devastation to the Rockaway Peninsular in New York

Debris fills the inside of a destroyed ambulance which sits in the middle of an intersection after Hurricane Sandy inundated the Rockaway Peninsular in the borough of Queens on October 30, 2012 in New York City. The super storm which devastated parts of the eastern seaboard has prompted officials to shut down all public transportation systems and schools and order the evacuation of thousands who live in coastal areas.
