Subways remain shut down due to the effects of Huricane Sandy in New York

A subway station in the Financial District remains shut down after Hurricane Sandy flooded the area on October 31, 2012 in New York City. The super storm which devistated parts of the eastern seaboard has prompted officials to shut down all public transportation systems and schools and order the evacuation of thousands who live in coastal areas.
