LOUIS, Sept. 10, (UPI) -- St. Louis Fire Commissioner and Chief Sherman George, rolls his sleeve up for paramedic Donna Lowe as she performs a Hepatitis C test at St. Louis Fire Department Headquarters in St. Louis on Sept. 9, 2002. The St. Louis Fire Department is the first fire department in the U.S. to test all firefighters and paramedics for the blood-borne virus that is transmitted by direct exposure to contaminated blood.
