First dogs of the White House(11 images)

Almost every president is recorded to own a pet dog while living in the White House. Here are some of the more recent first dogs to occupy one the most-well known addresses in the world.

Bo and Sunny Obama
Bo was given to the Obama family by Senator Ted Kennedy after President Obama had promised his daughters they could get a dog once they moved into the White House. Sunny later joined the Obama family shortly into Obama's second term. Both Bo and Sunny are Portuguese Water Dogs.
