Which films have landed at the top of the world's Netflix queues? Forget big, high-octane action flicks, the lion's share of the top 10 are Oscar-nominated films that strike at the heart and brain, not merely at the eyes.

Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures brought us Iron Man in 2008. Directed by Jon Favreau, the story of the wealthy philanthropist Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who fights evil in an iron suit ripped right from the pages of a comic book and put onto the big screen.

Christopher Nolan wrote and directed this sci-fi thriller about the power to enter dreams. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Dom Cobb, a member of a corporate espionage team that possesses a technology that allows them to steal valuable secrets from their enemies by extracting them from their subconscious while they're asleep. The film wraps around DiCaprio's last and most important assignment, to work his magic backwards and execute Inception.

"The Departed" came out in 2006 with a star-studded cast and a legendary director, Martin Scorsese. The tale of two men working undercover on opposite sides of the legal spectrum, one as a cop and one a gang member, was deemed worthy of four Oscars, including Best Picture, in the 2007 Academy Awards.
