Famous for her modeling, and having signed the largest contract in cosmetics history with CoverGirl, according to Brinkley herself, Brinkley also eventually gained fame for her series of marriages. She began with French artist Jean-Francois Allaux in 1973, who she divorced after eight years. Next came Billy Joel in 1985, with whom she had one child, with the marriage ending in 1994.
Real estate developer Richard Taubman came next in the same year, with Taubman proposing to Brinkley while she was still married to Joel. They divorced a year later. Finally came architect Peter Halsey Cook, who she married in 1996. They had one child, and divorced in 2008. UPI/Monika Graff.

Most famous for her role as the fiendish Alexis Colby on "Dynasty," Collins first married in 1952 at the age of 19 to Irish actor Maxwell Reed. The two divorced in 1956, moving on to singer Anthony Newley in 1963 and divorcing him in 1970. Keeping along with the musical theme, Collins married Apple Records president Ron Kass in 1972, with divorce following 11 years afterward.
Again, in 1985, Collins married to Swedish singer Peter Holm, with the end to that union coming just two years later. After a lengthy hiatus from matrimony, Collins married Percy Gibson in 2002, and the two are still married, despite a 32 year age difference between them. UPI/John Angelillo

Lewis, one of the most influential figures in the formative years of rock 'n roll music, experienced an equally rocky series of marriages. His first marriage, in 1952, ended after 20 months, while he was reportedly 14 years old (a fact that comes from Lewis during a 1978 interview in People Magazine). His second marriage lasted for four years until ending in 1957, and he had two children during that stretch.
Lewis' third marriage was his most notorious. In 1957, he married Myra Gale Brown, who just happened to be his first cousin once removed, and 13 years old. When news of the marriage broke out to the public, his career was almost completely ruined, and he was blacklisted from radio. Their marriage, strangely, lasted 13 years, before they divorced. Lewis' fourth wife, who he married in 1971, drowned in their swimming pool and his fifth wife also met an unfortunately early end when she died from a methadone overdose in 1984. Lewis' last wife, Kerrie McCarver, came onto the scene in 1984, and their marriage lasted 20 years until, again, ending in divorce.

The daughter of Judy Garland and breakout star from the film adaptation of "Cabaret," Minelli first married Peter Allen in 1967, and quickly turned around after their divorce in 1974 to marry director Jack Haley Jr. That union lasted five years, until she married artist Mark Gero. The two remained together for 13 years. Then, in 2002, Minelli captured the attention of tabloids with her marriage to the admittedly strange promoter David Gest, before their marriage came to an end in 2007. Arguably the greatest director of all time, Scorsese has admittedly been met with less success in matrimony. His first marriage in 1965 to a fellow student at NYU ended after six years, and his second, to writer Julia Cameron, concluded after a single year. Next came actress Isabella Rossellini in 1979, who he divorced in 1983, marrying producer Barbara De Fina in the same year. But he and De Fina's union ended in 1991. Scorsese's latest marriage to book editor Helen Morris is faring better, with no divorce in sight after their marriage in 1999. UPI/David Silpa | License Photo
For a romance novelist, Steel hasn't seemed to have encountered much romantic synergy in her own life. First married at the age of 18 to banker Claude-Eric Lazard, the two were separated for a long time before she divorced nine years later only to enter a short union with Danny Zugelder, which ended after he was convicted of sexual assault. Her next marriage met an end just two weeks after it began.
In 1981, she married wine seller John Traina, with whom she had five children and remained together with for 17 years. Steel is currently married to Tom Perkins, the creator of a venture capital firm. (UPI Photo/Ken James)

Thorton seems to have a thing for two-year marriages. His first, to Melissa Lee Gatlin, started in 1978 and ended in 1980. His second, to Toni Lawrence, lasted two years, as did his 1990-1992 marriage to actress Cynda Williams. In 1993, he married Playboy model Pietra Cherniak, with the two divorcing in 1997 as Cherniak accused him of abuse. Though he was engaged to actress Laura Dern, he eventually married Angelina Jolie in 2000. The two eventually separated though, and divorced in 2003. UPI/Phil McCarten | License Photo

The former host of his eponymous talk show on CNN, King's turbulence at the altar could have landed him as a guest on his own show. He started out marrying his high school girlfriend Freda Miller in 1951 at the age of 18, and the marriage was swiftly annulled. The then married Annette Kaye, with whom he had a song, Larry Jr., who he did not meet until Jr. was in his thirties. Next came Alene Akins, a Playboy bunny, who he married in 1961, divorced in 1963, married again in 1969 and divorced again in 1972. Between his two marriages to Akins, he married Mary Francis Sutphin in 1963. Then in 1976, he married production assistant Sharon Lepore, and they divorced in 1983. Finally, in 1997, he married Shawn Southwick, and the two remained married until 2010. UPI/Olivier Douliery/Pool | License Photo
As famous as Rooney is for his height, he still has a long list of failed marriages. Rooney first married Ava Gardner in 1942, which lasted for a year, then married Betty Jane Phillips in 1944. His subsequent marriages to Martha Vickers (1949-1951) and Elaine Devry (1952-1958) ended in divorce, and his marriage to Carolyn Mitchell tragically ended in 1966 when she was murdered. In the fallout, he married her friend Marge Lane, which only lasted for 100 days. He was married to Carolyn Hockett between 1969 and 1974, but eventually, in 1978, Rooney met his match with Jan Chamberlin, with whom he has been married ever since. Their marriage, as a bit of trivia, has lasted longer than all of Rooney's previous marriages combined. (UPI Photo/Phil McCarten) | License Photo
The late, great Elizabeth Taylor matched her on-screen performances with her frequent appearances in the tabloids and rumor mills. Taylor famously responded to a question about her many marriages, "I don't know, honey. It sure beats the hell out of me." Taylor's first marriage was to Conrad Hilton, which lasted nine months, then Michael Wilding, who was 20 years older than her, between 1952 and 1957.
Next came Michael Todd, who died in 1958 after a little over a year of marriage. Then came Eddie Fisher between 1959 and 1964, famously breaking up his marriage to Debbie Reynolds.
Her famous marriages to Richard Burton, first between 1964 and 1974, which began with an affair that was condemned by the Vatican, and then after sixteen months spent apart, the two came back together in 1975, only to divorce seven months later for good.
Her next marriage, to Sen. John Warner from 1976 to 1982, resulted in her entering the Betty Ford Clinic for depression, where during another stay, she met Larry Fortensky, her final husband, between 1991 and 1996.
