In a nationally televised ceremony at the national archives on July 3, 1971, President Nixon inaugurated a five year "Bicentennial Era" leading up to the 200th anniversary of the a birth of the United States in 1976. Following the ceremony, in front of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, the President chats with the Speaker of the House Carl Albert (L), Chief Justice Warren Burger (2nd from R) and David J.
