Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Angels have agreed on a one-year, $11 million contract with pitcher Matt Harvey.

A source informed MLB.com of the deal on Tuesday. A source told MLB Network that Harvey will be guaranteed the $11 million with a chance to earn another $3 million in incentives.

Harvey, 29, posted a 4.94 ERA and a 7-9 record in 32 appearances last season for the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds. The right-handed starter left the Mets for the Reds in a May 8 trade in exchange for catcher Devin Mesoraco and cash.

The 2013 All-Star was originally selected by the Angels out of Fitch Senior High School in the third round of the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft but did not sign with the team. He was later picked out of the University of North Carolina as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft by the Mets.
