Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Lily-Rose Depp showed her support for fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld at the 2017 WWD Honors.

The 18-year-old model joined Lagerfeld, the creative director of Chanel, at the event Tuesday in New York, where the designer was awarded the John B. Fairchild Honor.

Depp dazzled in a sparkling, sleeveless minidress with a tiered skirt. She drew comparisons to her mom, French singer and Chanel favorite Vanessa Paradis, as she posed with Lagerfeld on the red carpet.

"My first memory of Chanel was probably when I was still in diapers, going into my mom's closet and picking out her Chanel heels and her dresses and stuff, even thought I was swimming in them," the model told WWD.

"I would put on all her Chanel stuff and carry around her bag and everything, so it was probably my first dress up memory as well," she added. "I've known [Karl] since I was eight -- he's definitely somebody who has been in my life since I was little."

Depp, the daughter of Paradis and American actor Johnny Depp, said Lagerfeld inspires her with his creativity and artistry.

"He's really somebody who has managed to evolve but never stray from this level of artistry and precision," she lauded. "But at the same time he's never done the same thing twice."

Depp was named the face of Chanel eyewear in 2015, and of Chanel No. 5 perfume the next year. She is also an actress, appearing in such films as Yoga Hosers with Harley Quinn Smith and Planetarium with Natalie Portman.
